BIKANER-JAISALMER-JODHPUR Trip
About places-
BIKANER:- Located in the northwest of Rajasthan, Bikaner is the fifth largest city in Rajasthan. Some of the finest creations of the Rathore- Rajput civilization stand tall in the town with well-sculpted palaces and temples built in red and yellow sandstone. If you observe the city with a keen eye, you' ll be able to realize how everything about it speaks volumes of the ' monumental' love Rao Bika Singh had for his son, which led him to build one of the finest kingdoms for his son to rule. Positioned very close to the Indian Thar Desert, Bikaner is popular for its camel safari. There is also a vast oasis in the heart of Thar that can be a one-of-a-kind experience for the first-time desert. This is an ideal destination for people who have a knack for stories from the olden times. Robust on your feet with a camera in hand is all you need to explore the splendor of Bikaner.
JAISALMER :- The name Jaisalmer conjures up visions of golden sands, camel caravans, evening bonfire, Rajasthani folk music and dance, and its magnificent fort. Located in the heart of the picturesque Thar Desert, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Jaisalmer is often referred as the ' Golden City' because of the large number of monuments and buildings exuding hues of pale yellow as well as the surrounding golden sands. If you' re a historian at heart, you' ll be delighted to know that the city is as old as 859 years. The ancient city is know for the massive Jaisalmer Fort, stunning havelis and extensive vistas of sand dunes with no vegetation. The most visited tourist attraction - Jaisalmer Fort, is considered to be the world' s largest inhabited fort. It is also known as Sonar Quila because of its yellow sandstone, which gives it the golden colour. Ninety-nine bastions surround the fort' s still-inhabited twisting lanes and shops selling clothes in bright embroideries, attract numerous tourists. If you' re in the city for some exploration, make sure you visit the Patwon Ki Haveli, Jain Temple, and Salim Singh Ki Haveli. With the ebb and flow of tourists round the year, the city revels in disarray, packed with houses, temples, handicraft shops honeycombed with narrow lanes, all of them paved in stone. A jewel in Rajasthan' s crown, this is definitely a delightful city to visit.
JODHPUR :- Jodhpur is often called the ' Blue City' , as in the old city area, almost all the houses are painted blue. The city contains blue and glittering medieval streets, scented by incense and roses and the shops in bazaars sell everything from horns and temple decorations to traditional clothes and saris. Also known as the ' Sun City of India' , Jodhpur is as old as the year 1459. The land of Jodhpur is adorned with infinite imprints of colour and chivalry, harmonious music and hospitality, palaces and panache. The main attraction - Mehrangarh Fort that dominates the city, is one of the largest forts in India and also a brilliant display of an architectural masterpiece. Jaswant Thada is a white marble royal crematorium of Maharaja Jaswant Singh of Jodhpur and it also has lavish display of portraits of other rulers of Jodhpur and Umaid Bhawan Palace is a chittar sandstone palace whose construction took 15 long years and finally completed in 1943. It is a fine example of Indo-Colonial and art deco style of architecture. It has now been turned into a heritage hotel and also made it to the list of the most beautiful hotels in India in 2016 by a TripAdvisor survey. The forts, palaces, temples, havelis, culture and tradition, spices and fabrics and growing handicrafts industry, all add up to make this historic city worth a visit.
